Good Mine Company

Published Oct. 31 on wsspaper.com and @wsspaper via Instagram

Carter Birch Houchins-Witt ’26 holds a stuffed chicken while performing during the annual Works in Progress show choir concert Oct. 27. Good Time Company, West’s varsity group, performed their Minecraft-themed show, which changed lyrics from popular tunes to fit the theme.

When Houchins-Witt first heard that their show would be modeled after the popular video game, he thought it was a joke.

“I really never thought when I joined show choir I would eventually be eating lava chicken while singing Minecraft parodies,” he said.

But despite its silliness, he still finds it a fun and unique show to perform.

Pink pride

Cheering along with the rest of the student section, Hudson Huberg '26 waves a pom pom after the Trojans score against Linn-Mar Oct. 24. Every Trojan football game has a theme. For this game's theme "pink out," students showed up in their favorite pink clothing and donned pink glasses and bracelets to show support for their team. The support from the student section helped lead the Trojans to a 42-14 win.
